SELF-CARE
We live in a time of excessive and pervasive anxiety. While the state of fight or flight was useful in humanity’s early history, today it is too easily and consistently triggered. This means our bodies are frequently producing excess cortisol (the stress hormone) and caught in physical and limbic pattern that trigger repeated negative thought patterns and states. And yet the body has an innate capacity for healing and health that we should honour and nurture. How can we learn and afford space for this?

SCIENCE OF SOUND
Sound medicine has been used for thousands of years. Pythagoras recognized that all is vibration and that all bodies and components of bodies vibrate in intervals in relation with one another. Put simply, a healthy body vibrates in harmony.
Sound and vibration combined with intention exert a powerful influence on the body and mind and our internal medicine. Sound has a direct impact on the nervous system and can move us from a sympathetic state to a parasympathetic state. |
SOUND HEALING
Healing with sound can occur in a few different ways: a sound session, a sound bath, or active sound therapy.
Through sound, vibration and music, we address intention, the chakras, the nervous system, the busy mind, and allowing space for the innate medicine of your body to do the work of healing and calming imbalances. Sound healing uses instruments, harmonics, rhythms, and/or voice to release energetic blockages. It synchronizes brain waves, inducing ease and harmony by restoring the normal vibratory frequencies of the cells in our body. |
Please note that sound work is not psychological therapy. However, if you are working with a therapist, you should find that you are better able to make the intellectual and emotional shifts necessary to healing as your body and mind are healthier and calmer.
